Project description

At Melexis, you'll explore how sensors enhance Li-ion battery performance, critical for electric vehicles (EVs) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Optimizing their performance is paramount for a sustainable future. This internship provides hands-on experience with Melexis' advanced sensor technology, contributing to innovative battery management system (BMS) solutions. In a fully equipped lab, you'll gain skills in prototyping, characterization, and battery performance analysis. You'll investigate how sensor measurements enhance key parameters like state-of-charge and state-of-health, contributing to improved Li-ion battery performance and lifespan.

Project goals:

  • Develop a Battery Management System (BMS) demonstration using the latest Melexis technology.
  • Evaluate and benchmark Melexis' cell and module level characterization protocols (State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), Remaining Useful Life (RUL), etc.) against state-of-the-art methods.
  • Develop and refine State of Charge (SOC)/State of X (SOX) algorithms using existing and advanced sensor data.

Your profile

  • Background in Bioengineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering (Electronics/Chemistry/Nanoscience).
  • Interest in sensors, batteries, or materials science preferred.
  • Type of Work: Primarily experimental (90%), with 10% literature review.

Duration & Location

  • Joining Melexis for your internship is the opportunity to build up your know-how in a high-tech, international and dynamic company, benefit from the experience and training of our experts and enjoy the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of our teams.
