Melexis’ Latch & Switch sensor ICs use an innovative magnetic technology that allows the measurement of the lateral magnetic flux component.
The MLX92241 IC is the new generation factory programmable Hall-effect switch IC designed in mixed signal submicron CMOS technology.
This device integrates a voltage regulator, Hall sensor with advanced offset cancellation system, programmable digital logic and a current sink-configured output driver, all in a single package.

As a result of the inclusion of IMC technology, simple wheel speed sensing on motorcycles can now be performed using a single two-wire switch sensor IC with an integrated capacitor (MLX92242 IC or MLX92241 IC) and a traditional magnet. This approach uses the lateral field rather than the previous method of using the perpendicular field, thus vastly simplifying the designer’s task.
