Your future mission

As an intern at Melexis, a leading chip supplier in the automotive and robotics industry, you will learn about applications for rotary magnetic position sensors, and work on innovative electromagnetic concepts for low-power multi-turn-counting applications. You'll gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge magnetic sensors, and you will contribute to the success of innovative research projects with applications in the fascinating field of robotics. At the end of your internship, you will have acquired valuable skills in design, prototyping, and characterization techniques within a stimulating work environment.

More specifically, you will:

• Explore different existing solutions for magnetic multi-turn counting available on the market.

• Design and implement a multi-turn counting solution based on Melexis Triaxis® sensors in the Lab.

• Demonstrate the viability of your concept, qualify and quantify its limitations.

• Identify and propose optimization opportunities.

Expected results

• A working and fully characterized prototype of your proposed solution
• A comprehensive report detailing the performance of your solution and its compatibility with Melexis’ sensor technologies
• Identification of potential technical solutions, as well as the related benefits and drawbacks
• Contributions to potential publications based on your research findings

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of magnetic sensor technologies and familiarity with motion control equipment

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Python for data analysis and device control

• Excellent communication and technical writing skills

• Working experience with standard communication protocols (SPI, I2C, SSI etc.) is a plus

• Practical working experience in microfabrication will be beneficial
