Your future mission
As an intern at Melexis, you'll get the chance to explore how Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors can be used to improve people’s quality of life in health-related applications. You will acquire hands-on experience working with Melexis’ sensor technology, and actively contribute to the success of novel healthcare solutions. You'll work in a fully equipped innovation lab, acquiring valuable skills in prototyping and characterization. You will also demonstrate the validity of your solution in a clinical setting, in strong collaboration with clinical professionals and patients.
More specifically, you will:
Explore different existing solutions for vital signs monitoring available on the market.
Elaborate digital health application scenarios and define the sensing performance requirements.
Implement a ToF-based sensing solution and validate its performance in the lab.
Perform applicative tests under genuine conditions in a clinical setting.
Identify and propose optimization opportunities.
Expected results
- A comprehensive report detailing sensing performances, and highlighting improvement opportunities
- Assessment of the market potential based on test results, and feedback from doctors, nurses and patients
- Practical recommendations about the advantages and drawbacks of possible solutions for Melexis
- Contributions to potential publications based on your research findings
Requirements
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Python for data analysis and signal processing
Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Excellent social skills to interact with patients
Prior working experience with Time-of-Flight sensors and/or experience in a medical setting is a plus
