Your future mission

As an intern at Melexis, a leading chip supplier in the automotive and robotics industry, you'll get the chance to explore how the performance of magnetic field sensors can be enhanced to sense the magnetic signals of the human body. You will acquire hands-on experience in magnetic sensor design, and build your solution in a clean room environment. In our fully equipped innovation lab, you will acquire practical instrumentation skills.

More specifically, you will:

  • Explore existing solutions of highly sensitive magnetic field sensors and their applications.

  • Design a high-sensitivity magnetoresistive magnetic field sensor and implement it in a cleanroom (e.g. CMI).

  • Demonstrate the sensing performances by characterization of your solution in our Innovation lab.

  • Identify and propose optimization opportunities in perspective of a CMOS integration.

Expected results

  • A comprehensive report detailing the performance of your demonstrator and its improvement options
  • Practical recommendations about the advantages and drawbacks of your developed technology
  • Contributions to potential publications & conferences based on your research findings

Requirements

  • Familiarity with magnetic sensing technologies

  • Working experience in a clean room (e.g. CMI) and Python skills for data analysis

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills

  • Simulation experience with COMSOL multiphysics is a plus
